1. Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Vajra’, the sixth offshore patrol vessel to enhance coastal security, was formally commissioned into service in Chennai on 24 March 2021. The ship was indigenously designed and built by Larsen and Toubro Shipbuilding Limited.
2. IT services major Infosys on 24 March 2021 announced the appointment of former Salesforce Executive Chitra Nayak as an Independent Director. She will assume the charge on March 25, 2021.
3. Niti Aayog has decided to empanel Transaction Advisor for monetization of assets and carry forward the process of disinvestment of public sector enterprises. The objective of the proposed monetization is to raise long-term private investment in lieu of the right to operate and earn revenue from such core assets.
4. The Competition Commission of India on 24 March 2021 ordered a probe into the new privacy policy of WhatsApp. As per CCI, the firm has contravened competition law provisions through its “exploitative and exclusionary conduct”
5. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a half-billion disbursement for Pakistan to help the country's economy. The assistance is given after the IMF Executive Board completed delayed reviews of Pakistan's $2 billion loan program.
6. Parliament has passed the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Bill, 2021. The Bill seeks to set up a National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions to regulate and standardize the education and practice of allied and healthcare professionals.
7. The Parliament has passed the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amend) Bill, 2021 with Rajya Sabha giving its nod. The bill which seeks to amend the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991, has already been passed in LS.
8. Chief Justice of India SA Bobde has recommended the name of Justice NV Ramana as his successor. Chief Justice Bobde is set to retire on 23rd April 2021.
9. Chinki Yadav won the gold medal in the women's 25m Pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi on 24 March 2021. Chinki outgunned the experienced Rahi Sarnobat in a shoot-off to clinch the top spot.
10. President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Rajendra Badamikar and Sushree Khazi Jayabunnisa Mohiuddin as Additional Judges of Karnataka High Court for 2 yrs. Rajendra Badamikar is presently working as Registrar General at the High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru.
