PM Vishwakarma Scheme



- PM Vishwakarma, a Central Sector Scheme, launched on September 17, 2023, aims to support artisans and craftspeople.

- It covers artisans in 18 trades, including carpenters, blacksmiths, potters, tailors, and more.

- The scheme offers benefits like recognition through certificates and ID cards, skill upgradation, and toolkit incentives.

- Artisans can receive collateral-free 'Enterprise Development Loans' of up to Rs. 3 lakh at a low interest rate.

- They are encouraged to adopt digital transactions and receive incentives for each digital transaction.

- Marketing support, quality certification, and branding are provided to improve market access.

- Beneficiaries are onboarded into the formal MSME ecosystem.

- Enrolment is done through Common Service Centres with Aadhaar-based biometric authentication.

- The process includes verification at the local level and approval by the Screening Committee.
